Dr. Salman Sagarwala is a double board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician with a passion for advancing minimally invasive solutions for chronic pain. His philosophy places an emphasis on preventing pain from becoming persistent through a multi-modal, multi-disciplinary, and patient-centric approach.
Dr. Sagarwala earned his medical degree through one of the nation’s few combined 6-year BA/MD programs at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Rush University Medical Center in Downtown Chicago. During residency, he was awarded the prestigious Katalin Selmeczi MD & Curt J. Stokes III MD Memorial Award for his humanism and exemplary dedication during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He went on to complete one of the nation’s leading multidisciplinary interventional pain fellowships at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dr. Sagarwala previously served patients at the former NorthShore University Health System, providing pain management services at the Integrated Pain Center at the NorthShore Orthopaedic & Spine Institute and anesthesiology services across the NorthShore system. He then served as Medical Director and Chairman of the Pain Management Department at Insight Hospital.
Dr. Sagarwala has received multiple awards for his dedication to clinical excellence and leadership in the field. He has spoken at national conferences and is an active member of the American Society of Pain & Neuroscience, North American Neuromodulation Society, and the International Neuromodulation Society.
